On a few different occasions I’ve posted that P90X doesn’t get easier as you go along. I’m a liar, I’ll admit it because the more I do P90X, the easier Kenpo X becomes. In all of the other P90X workouts you can do some sort of advanced move, or add more weight to your routine if you need more of a challenge, but not with Kenpo X.Each move begins pretty slowly and picks up the pace as it goes along, but even when I start each move at a much faster pace, I just can’t get my heart rate up. I struggle to keep my heart rate above 120; during the 60 second “breaks” I can get it up to about 140 but only because I’m running in place like a madman to get it up, but it drops back down to the 120s as soon as the break is over. What’s up with that?
Kenpo X used to be one of my favorite workouts, but it just isn’t a challenge anymore - the very fact that I can say that Kenpo is no longer a challenge should answer the question "does P90X actually work?" Yes, P90X works, but to burn more calories and get a better workout I've ended up doing Cardio X as a supplement workout on my Kenpo days. Not sure what else I can do to make Kenpo X more challenging.

Hey Colin, no I haven't tried it with weights, but that's a great idea. Glad to see that you're back from your hiatus.
I agree that KempoX is too easy. I like the weight idea. Will try it next time.
I happen to have run into the same problem. I'm on my 4th week of phase one since I have the weight to lose, and Kenpo X the last two weeks has been too easy. My mind wanders and I get bored! I happen to have P90X+ (the grad version) and am going to swap it out next week.
Let me tell you, it's shorter at 42 minutes but they don't stop moving for a second. The other plus videos look too difficult, but Kenpo Plus might be the answer you're looking for.
The weight idea is really great too.
